Do clients say you’re too expensive?? 💸 or my personal favorite, completely ghost 👻 you after sending a quote time and time again?…

Just know you’re not alone, but after awhile this can definitely start to make you second guess yourself, your skills, and your value as a business owner.

We often intertwine our own worth with the success of our business (although we know it’s not true.)

Unfortunately as great as you are, as skilled as you are, and as talented as you are…you will still come across people who don’t value you or your craft. You will hear often…it’s “just” balloons…it’s “just” flowers….it’s “just” tablecloths.

Just, just, just..🎶

There are still so many people who don’t value our industry yet because they don’t fully understand the work that goes into it. Behind the scenes, what the client doesn’t see…

But you can not set your prices based on people’s ignorance or budgets.

Your price is YOUR price! And you have to be confident enough to stick to your guns. If it’s $500 it’s $500, if it’s $1,500 it’s $1,500, if it’s $10,000 it’s $10,000. The right clients will value your work and expertise and pay what they have to.

The tables and chairs don’t clean themselves. Rentals don’t deliver themselves. Balloons don’t blow themselves up. Flowers don’t make their own arrangements. Maintenance, transportation, gas, labor…

All they see is the finished product. The pretty Pinterest picture or Instagram post.

They don’t see the blood, sweat, and literal tears that goes into servicing the party industry.

It takes hard work, grit, and perseverance.

We might not always be our best, but we always bring our best to the table and that deserves to be compensated.

Your price is YOUR price! 💸💁🏽‍♀️ Remember everyone’s cost of doing business is not the same. Don’t feel hurt or intimidated into lowering your quote because a client threatens you with competitor pricing.

There are so many factors that go into pricing! For all we know…Miss Susie down the way may use lesser quality products, she may have a free family workforce, she may not have to pay overhead for storage, she may not have a company vehicle to pay off, etc, etc.

Consider others may be running their business as a side hustle for extra spending cash and don’t necessarily need their business to be profitable enough to cover their own salary and actually pay their bills. They may not even be profitable and only break even on events but just haven’t realized it yet. They may not be paying their taxes and running their business under the table.

Whatever the case may be, it has nothing to do with you. Good quality work deserves good quality pay!…and the right clients will recognize that and pull out their pocketbooks 💸💸💸

Remember our pricing (however unreasonable some people may deem it be) is not to get over on those we serve. It’s to make sure we have a way to sustain our business and lifestyle so that we can CONTINUE TO SERVE!
